Usually, anything featuring the word 'bae' would have me running for the hills, but I had heard amazing things about Primark nails, so I figured that for just £2 they were definitely worth a try.
I hadn't actually used stick-on nails since I was about ten, struggling with a pack of Claire's accessories finest which came complete with squares of double-sided sticky tape. Compared to those, these are a huge glow up.
The packaging for these nails is absolutely adorable and for only £2 you get a box of 24 nails, which I found to be plenty enough to find the sizes I needed. The box includes 4 nails with unicorn designs, 4 yellow and pink, 2 green and yellow and the rest are rainbow coloured. I am a super girly girl who is loving the whole unicorn trend right now, so these 'My Little Pony' esque nails are perfect for me.
The nails also come with a tube of glue included which made them easy enough to use. I simply applied a thin layer of glue on the underside of each nail, waited for it to become tacky, then applied them to my natural nail. Strangely, they didn't actually come with any instructions, but I suppose it is pretty self-explanatory.
I applied the nails on Thursday 17th, but after only an hour both my thumb nails had popped off. Granted I was trying to open a can of vodka and lemonade at the time, so I simply glued them back on. I then had the 'genius' (turns out not) idea of painting a UV gel top coat over them to make them last longer, however all this resulted in was making the above photos look super messy round my cuticle. Fail.
The next morning I was peeling the gel top coat off when the nail on my right index finger popped off. I accidentally slipped with the glue when reapplying and messily stuck my nail down wonky and onto my cuticle itself. It stuck fast and hurt when I pushed up from underneath the nail tip, so I left it. 10/10 for the glue though, very impressive stuff.
In all, these nails lasted a whole week before I got annoyed with them catching in my hair and popped them off with dental floss. I have to say I never expected Primark nails to be this good, but I can't wait to get some more.

I've never tried fake nails but I've always wanted to. These look amazing, I love the colors and kind of watercolor effect that they have.
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised the glue is that effective, I never would have thought is as it comes with a £2 nail package.
These look gorgeous! I bought my little sister nails when we visited in Spain and oh - amazing Primark! We don't have one here so I spend most of my money there when I'm abroad haha :D
ReplyDeleteOh i tried some like these (not the unicorn ones) recently - i used to be a massive nail biter and they were such a huge part of helping me stop! (can't fo wrong for £1!)
ReplyDeleteThese look so nice! But I'm so not a fake nail kinda gal. Definitely just a nail polish girl and even then I find the upkeep hard haha! Maybe I'll give these a try as they're so cheap though!

I've never used fake nails before but the design of these Primark ones look amazing and so eye-catching! It's a shame they kept popping off for you, but I'm glad to hear the nail glue was good and for an amazing £2 you can't complain! Will definitely look into their collection when I'm next in Primark!

Had to chuckle at "anything with 'bae' sends me running for the hills" because honestly, *same*. The nails are adorable, I've never actually tried stick-on nails but for 2 quid I might be tempted!
