Review: Tangle Teezer Blow-Styling Smoothing Tool

Tangle Teezer and LUSH conditioner for frizzy hairMy hair has seen a lot of damage in its life. Since I was 16 I have been bleaching my strawberry-blonde hair to an almost white shade of pale blonde, resulting in a fluffy, matted mess of frizz every time my hair got wet. Luckily, all that changed when I discovered this fabulous, frizz-fighting brush from Tangle Teezer.

I legit screamed in excitement when I received an email from Alice (great name) a marketing executive for Tangle Teezer asking if I wanted to try a brush from their collection. The answer was a great big YES PLEASE and the brush I chose was the Blow-Styling Smoothing Tool*, a gorgeous purple and lilac brush designed for fighting frizzy hair straight out of the shower.

I chose this brush as since having my hair cut short, drying it has been an absolute nightmare. Whereas before the weight of my long hair would straighten-out my hair as it dried overnight, now it seems my shorter hair is determined to curl itself into the weirdest shapes and styles possible. Blow drying is usually out of the question due to the amount of time it takes, and so I'm either in too much of a rush in the mornings, or too lazy in the evenings to reach for the hairdryer. However, this brush has changed all that, yay!

Usually, drying my hair would take at least a good fifteen minutes, but using this brush cut that time down by half, which is absolutely incredible. My hair was also left really bouncy and shiny without any of the usual frizz that comes from blow drying. I didn't even have to do anything to it, whereas I usually have to straighten my fringe to control it a little. Not this time!

The day I received this brush I washed my hair twice to test it properly and got the same fabulous results each time. I even wet my hair without washing it and practised blow-drying it using the Smoothing Tool. I think I may be slightly addicted to the results it gives!

Onto the design of the brush itself, I love how heavy it is. It's made of really good materials and actually feels expensive and good quality to hold. The one problem is that it absolutely kills if you accidentally drop it on your foot, something I learned the hard way. The colours are also gorgeous and I love the mix of the deep purple with the lilac.

I adore the rubber bristles so much that after using this brush I was desperate to get my hands on an Original Tangle Teezer. I went straight out to Boots the next day and got myself one *grin*.

Whilst a regular Tangle Teezer retails at £11, this brush is £20 but I think that is actually a good price for the quality of the brush itself. Usually my hair is so thick that it breaks bristles really easily, but I raked at my hair with this and I wasn't worried about it breaking at all.

I would definitely recommend the Blow-Styling Smoothing Tool* to be used with LUSH American Cream conditioner, as something about the de-tangling bristles on the brush really releases the gorgeous scent of the conditioner and leaves hair free of frizz, super soft and smelling sweetly.

Have you ever tried a Tangle Teezer?
