Hello my darlings! So after I wrote my (overwhelmingly popular) post on Tasty Treatments for Chapped Lips I was flooded with comments on Twitter saying I needed to try the hugely worshipped Evolution Of Smooth lip balms. Well it just so happens that when I was in Boots on Wednesday, I spotted some for sale in the lipcare section! Never before have I seen EOS lip balms for sale in stores and not online, so I quickly grabbed two and ran to the counter.
Instead of doing a joint EOS post, I have decided to review them separately. This post focuses on the beautiful Sweet Mint flavour balm as *spoiler alert* it's my favourite so far.
I'll start with the packaging before I get too overexcited about the balm itself. EOS is well known for it's egg-shaped lip balms which fit perfectly in the palm of your hand, and Sweet Mint is no exception. The colour of the packaging is a gorgeous bright mint colour that even after turning up the vibrancy my rubbish camera still couldn't truly capture. It features a twist off top which makes the balm easy to access.
The lip balm itself is pale yellow in colour, although for some reason I was expecting mint green to go with the flavour. However, EOS pride themselves on being 100% natural on 95% organic, meaning that there is no artifical colours added (hence, no green coloured balm.)
The scent. Oh my god, the scent. It is mouthwateringly good, reminding me of when I used to make peppermint creams with my Nan when I was much younger. It's very strong, even being quite powerful with the lid still on. It's delicious. I love it. It feels very cool when being applied to lips and has a slight tingling effect, similar to that of Burt's Bees, which I swear made my lips a little plumper. I genuinely cannot stop applying this lip balm every 15 minutes, I'm truly addicted to it and it lasts a good couple of hours.
I totally love how soft this made my chapped lips in only one day, and the taste is also amazing. Very sweet and I can't stop licking my lips to feel the little tingle on my tongue. It also results in some amazing minty kisses, but I won't go into detail because that would be SAUCY *wink*.
The price I feel seems a little too expensive, £6.50 seems crazy for one lip balm as they are only $3.29 on the EOS website (which doesn't ship to the uk, bleh) however after seeing the amazing results on my lips teamed with simply how delicious it is, I would say it is so worth it. You can however buy them off Amazon for about £3.50 each, which does make me feel incredibly thick for spending so much, but at least I know for the future (plus I was upset on Wednesday and needed a little treat.)
Which flavour should I try next?
What EOS balms do you own?
I have the pink one - I think (don't hold me to this) that it's strawberry but it tastes nice and is a god send for underneath my matte lipsticks when my lips are just too dry to cope with them! Plus - it's a conversation starter as all the guys at work have no idea what is is! Haha.. great post :) xxx

Thank you! And yes, definitely get your hands on one! Xx
DeleteI love EOS lip balm - the coconut milk one is my favorite so far (the Vanilla Mint is good too if you like the Sweet Mint). ❤︎
ReplyDeleteAlso, lovely blog post & actually, blog in general (hehe). :)
Thank you so much!! I've never tried the coconut milk or vanilla one, are they available in the UK? Xx
DeleteI have the summer fruits one and was completely obsessed! But I had some sort of reaction too it and it made my lips so painful and blistered and red, so naturally I applied more which made it worse until I stopped using it and the pain and blisters died down. I'd been using the balm a little while before this happened so just be careful! I googled this problem and apparently I'm not the only one! xx
ReplyDeleteI've heard so much about these and my little sister is totally obsessed with these, but I haven't bought own yet. I think that when the time comes, I'll go with this flavour hahah.
