Review: Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose & Shea Butter Body Repair Cream

Originally, I had intended this post to be based on creating seductively soft skin for Valentine's day. I was planning an evening of pampering before the big day, incorporating this gorgeous body cream into the routine, when instead I was hit with a 3-week-long bout of glandular fever, and was laid up in bed throughout the entire Valentine's season. Sucks to be me, right? Luckily, I instead took this as an opportunity to incorporate Dr Botanicals into my daily self-care routine, and I'm so glad I did.

As I spent a whole week off work feeling sorry for myself, it was important to take care of myself in other aspects to prevent me from going absolutely stir crazy. One way I did this was by spending a lot of time in the bath, surrounded by bubbles and candles. However lovely this was, by day 3 my skin was starting to dry out and I needed to begin repairing it.

Enter my skincare saviour, Dr Botanicals Moroccan Rose & Shea Butter Body Cream, a 'deeply moisturising and hydrating cream' designed to repair damaged skin.

To start the review, I simply have to talk about the scent of this product. It is absolutely divine. It's very floral upon application, however once absorbed it has a sweet vanilla pod scent, mixed with something a little more spicy. It reminds me a lot of Benefit's Under My Spell Noelle perfume and it's absolutely beautiful.

Packaging-wise, the body cream arrived in a neat little cardboard box, printed with all the information I needed to know about the ingredients used. The pot for the cream itself is very classy and understated, being a clear glass jar with a monochrome printed label and black lid. I feel that often looks better and more luxurious than complex packaging that other brands favour.

The main ingredient used in this body cream is Moroccan rose oil in order to firm and hydrate the skin. Rose oil is a very well known ingredient for soothing and calming skin, whilst reducing redness. It is also said to have an aphrodisiac effect, which is why this product as a perfect choice to promote for Valentine's day *wink*. I found that the rose oil in this cream made it perfect for use on my legs after shaving, to prevent any razor rash or redness.

I love the formula of this cream, it's so smooth and cooling on skin and a tiny amount goes such a long way. . The consistency is actually a little more similar to a lotion, as I don't find it to be as thick or solid as body creams I've used in the past. This suits me perfectly as it means my skin doesn't feel sticky afterwards, and the cream absorbs in beautifully, leaving behind no residue.

Overall, I am absolutely loving using this wonderful body cream daily, and especially after a shower or bath. The scent is truly delicious, and a 100ml will last ages as a small amount really spreads and glides over skin. The best thing about it? It can be yours for only £19.99 (as opposed to £80!) when you use my code DAINTYBLOG.

Have you tried Dr Botanicals?
Oddly enough, I was super surprised to see a few Dr Botanicals products in the middle of Doncaster TK Maxx! So if you see some, pick them up!

This body cream was gifted to me by the lovely Emma of Dr Botanicals in order to promote their Moroccan Rose range. This does not affect my opinion and all views are strictly my own. You can purchase your own Moroccan Rose & Shea Butter Body Cream online.

  4. This sounds wonderful! I'm not one for products that have a super sweet scent, but a hint of vanilla is good for me!
