Guerlain 'Mon Guerlain' Perfume Launch

To me, blogging is so much more than just a hobby. It's a way of discovering beauty cultures and immersing myself in lifestyles I never thought I would belong to until now. Through blogging I have had some amazing opportunities to discover high-end brands, and so being invited to the Guerlain perfume launch was nothing short of amazing.

Guerlain is one of those prestigious, classic brands which make you feel like you've joined a society of elites once you own one of their perfumes. There is nothing more chic than French perfume, and so Guerlain is the essence of everything sophisticated, glamorous and luxurious.

Their new fragrance 'Mon Guerlain' is described as being created for the notes of a woman. The woman in particular is no other than the truly beautiful and inspirational Angelina Jolie, who herself is an icon of class and glamour.

Angelina has never before worked with any perfumery, however felt a special connection to Guerlain as her mother was French and used their pressed powders. The scent of the powders evoked happy memories of being a young girl with her mother, and so was the inspiration behind the perfume itself.

The iconic perfume bottle was designed in 1908 and offers a 'contrast between strong taut lines and sensual curves, expressing contemporary femininity.' I love the meaning behind the stopper of the bottle, which is that it is designed to look like a four leaf clover in order to make the wearer lucky. It's a truly exquisite bottle which is so pretty and feminine and it looks amazing on my bedside table.

The perfume itself has delicious notes of vanilla, jasmine, sandalwood and lavender, with the base notes of vanilla and sandalwood being the gorgeous base notes that this perfume mellows down to. The gorgeous blend of notes makes me feel independent and successful. I don't feel 19, I feel 25 and chic and totally in control. It's an amazing feeling. It's truly a 'blogger' fragrance and it gives me so much confidence, I absolutely adore it.

Longevity wise, I put this perfume on a 8am and by that time the next morning it is still smelling sweetly. It isn't a synthetic sweetness, such as the notes in La Vie Est Belle, but it smells warm and natural. I think one of the reasons I love this is that the vanilla notes remind me of my American Cream LUSH conditioner, which I've said before is my favourite scent in the world.

The sillage for this perfume is moderate, and makes me feel like I'm floating on a soft cloud when I enter a room. My co-workers, boyfriend, uncle and mum have all commented on how beautiful it smells and just a few spritzes of this fragrance can really change my whole mood.

Despite never having tried Guerlain perfume before, I am now a complete convert. I'm already eyeing up a second Guerlain fragrance, Pera Granita from the Aqua Allegoria collection. It smells like pear and is just so juicy and gorgeous, I expect to have splashed the cash within a month.

Have you tried Guerlain perfume before?

  2. What an absolutely fantastic review! I hope you are given many more opportunities like this because your passion absolutely shone, and you have obviously taken the time to study every detail, and described the perfume as a whole experience. I absolutely agree that perfume can change a mood, and it's lovely that this perfume is special to you, not only as a product, but as a reminder of Guerlain recognising your hard work and talent xx
