Review: Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons Palette

I finally found time to photograph and write about my Too Faced Chocolate Bon Bons palette, which I actually bought wayyy back in August. Just look how pretty and shimmery it is.

The Chocolate Bon Bons palette is the third palette in Too Faced's line of cocoa powder infused eyeshadow palettes and is my personal favourite, so I can't believe how long it's taken me to get round to reviewing it.

Like the two previous Chocolate Bar palettes, Bon Bons contains 16 shades including two larger pans. The big difference between this paletee and the others is that the pans here are heart shaped, which I think is absolutely adorable.

Upon first opening this palette, it truly is good enough to eat. The smell is absolutely incredible and though not as strong as the Peanut Butter palette, it's still absolutely amazing to have scented eyelids. Actually, that sounds weird. Ignore that last part *grin.*

As always with Too Faced eyeshadows, the quality is amazing. The creamy formula is borderline flawless as ever, with only the lightest coloured matte shade (Divinity) having a little bit of fall out when applied. When applied with a primer, all of the shades last at least 16 hours and some of the deeper shades even longer.

I actually struggled so badly to swatch this palette for two reasons. The first being that my camera is borderline useless at picking up neutral colours, and the second reason being that I ran out of arm when I was swatching.

In this case, I've picked out a few of my favourite colours to show swatches of on my fingers - hopefully that isn't too disappointing!

Left to right: Totally Fetch, Cotton Candy & Sprinkles
First up are the pinks of the palette, Totally Fetch, Cotton Candy and Sprinkles. Totally Fetch is a fabulous bright, shimmery pink which is the exact shade of the iconic 'burn book' from the film Mean Girls, hence the name.

Cotton Candy is just that - a sheer and iridescent candyfloss pink. It looks amazing as a highlight in the inner corners of the eye or swept onto cheekbones for a pale pink glow.

Sprinkles is my favourite pink of the palette, becoming a gorgeous pink with gold shimmer once blended. I also love using this shade as a blusher as it suits my complexion really nicely without looking too glittery.

Left to right: Molasses Chip, Cafe Au Lait & Cashew Chew
The next swatch shows my favourite three shades in the entire palette - Molasses Chip, Cafe Au Lait and Cashew Chew, which look absolutely amazing when used together

Molasses Chip is a simply heavenly metallic bronze-gold, blending out to an almost rose gold shade. It is my favourite eyeshadow in the entire palette, and possibly my favourite eyeshadow ever. It's borderline spiritual, trust me.

Cafe Au Lait is a silvery taupe which goes beautifully with just about every other shade in the palette. It's a perfect colour to add a bit of shimmer to an otherwise neutral look.

Cashew Chew is my perfect base colour which applies as a pinky nude. It looks to be a matte shade in the pan, however does apply with a little bit of a sheen to it, but I would definitely not call it a shimmer shade.

What do you think to this pretty little palette?
Is it going on your Christmas list?

  1. This palette is gorge! I'm a massive fan of Too Faced shadows, they are such amazing quality and agreed, nothing better than good smelling eyelids... ;) I don't think I would get a lot of use out of those bright colours (as I'm such a massive baby with bright shadows) but those neutrals have me swooning! xx
