Review: LUSH Cup O' Coffee Face & Body Mask

It's about time I reviewed LUSH's cult classic Cup O' Coffee face and body mask as it's a product I've come to use more and more regularly since first purchasing it back in May.

Before I start on the review, can we all just appreciate how the above picture is absolute LUSH porn. Just look at that little bubble. It looks so good, it makes me want to scoop it out and cover my face with it. Luckily that's what you're supposed to do, so I don't seem too weird for saying that.

Cup O' Coffee smells absolutely awesome, like freshly ground coffee mixed with chocolate and the tears of angels (really.) I don't even drink coffee but I get more and more tempted to take a sip every time I use this mask just because of the gorgeous smell.

The texture is a bit hard to describe. I think 'slop' is appropriate. Like how wet sand feels running through your fingers, with lots of coffee granules mixed in. I absolutely love the coffee grounds in this mask as it feels so good to scrub them on my face and get a little exfoliation done, it is actual bliss. My skin always feels really invigorated and fresh after using it in the morning, however it's also a perfect way to get me ready for bed with the warming scent in the evening.

The one thing I don't like about Cup O' Coffee is how much mess it makes. It gets everywhere. It's best to rinse it off in the shower instead of the sink and the granules tend to explode everywhere once water hits them. I also hate how it gets under my nails when scooping it out of the little pot - I wish LUSH had considered making a squeezy tube for this mask.

Overall, this mask makes me feel sassy and chic, especially when I use it as a cleanser/exfoliant in the morning before work. It must be the coffee sending me sassy, working-girl vibes that make me want to put my hair in a messy bun and buy a white shirt. Anything that manages to make me feel so motivated must be good.

Have you tried Cup O' Coffee?
Will you be buying it soon?

  2. I should try one once I go to Lush store for the first time and of course I will try not to eat it since I'm a coffee girl haha

  3. I've always wanted to try one of Lush's face masks but I just never know where to start! I don't usually wear them, so I'm a bit of a n00b. Is this one irritating at all? I have super sensitive skin so I worry that I might get a horrible reaction to it...

  4. Coffee anything gets my vote. This sounds amazing though. I'm having to restrain from walking into town to buy this immediately, at 10pm!! This may have to be a payday treat

  5. This is my favourite face mask from them! It smells so beautiful and it applies to the face so well, I just found that after time the mask gets quite oily not really sure why though X
