Review: LUSH American Cream Conditioner

Conditioner is something I've never really been fussy about, mainly using whatever my mum had bought that week. However since I've had my hair cut shorter, keeping it in good, soft condition has become my top priority.

When I did my awesome LUSH haul, I decided treating myself to some good conditioner would definitely be worth my while. The conditioner I chose was American Cream - a milkshake thick, sweet smelling delight that quickly became my favourite LUSH product ever.

Before anything else, I just have to talk about the scent of the product. It is the most beautifully delicious vanilla scent I have ever come across in my entire life. Put it this way - the first time I used this conditioner I was running around my work office the next morning, asking my colleagues to smell my hair, that's how good it is.

Describing it properly, it's seriously sweet and smells like a thick strawberries and cream milkshake, without being over the top and sickly. I always wash my hair before going to bed, so as a result my pillows and bedding now smell amazing.

All conditioners I have ever tried have made my hair sleek but heavy, however not this one. American Cream is even better than that. Instead of making hair silky, but prone to looking greasy, this conditioner makes my hair soft and floaty. It's an absolute dream. Imagine the soft, sexy curls of a 1950's pin-up girl, that's the effect you get using this conditioner.

I'm really struggling to capture how good this conditioner is so basically buy it buy it buy it buy it. Especially if you have thick hair, this conditioner is sheer heaven.

My only gripe with this conditioner is that it brought all the boys to my yard and now they wont leave. Jk

The problem is that I end up using a lot of American Cream and I've almost used up my 250g bottle after only 4 or 5 washes. As the conditioner is pretty pricey at £4.95 for 100g, this could pose a problem. However this is all totally fine as I'm going to stock up on the £27.50 1kg bottles, problem solved *grin*.

Have you tried American Cream?

  1. Okay I definitely have to go for this next! I'm having Lush Retread conditioner at the moment and I absolutely can't stand the fact that it's in a pot :D
