Makeup Revolution Fortune Favours The Brave Palette

A better photo for this post would be an image of me chasing after a bandwagon, trying to jump on it but being a little too late and falling over, because here's me reviewing the Makeup Revolution 'Fortune Favours The Brave' palette months after everyone else... oops.

But seriously, just LOOK AT IT. Look how pretty it is! How can I not be totally obsessed? It's beaaauuuutiiiful.

It took me such a long time to hunt down this palette considering it has been sold out everywhere online since its initial release, however I finally found it in Meadowhall's Superdrug, YAAAS.

The fabulous palette itself contains a good mixture of satins, shimmers and mattes. There is 30 eyeshadows in the Fortune Favours The Brave palette in total, which I think is a pretty damn good amount considering the price is literally just a tenner. The palette is actually a collab with British Beauty Blogger but I have no idea who that is, lol.

The shadows all have amazing names such as Cashmere, Drama Queen, Transformer, Caffeine Fix and New World. I've painstakingly typed out all the names below as the plastic cover that came on the palette looked dreadful in the photos.

Top row: Glimmer - Buffer - Peachy - Hope - Fortune - Skylight - Transformer - Midnight Rainbow
Second row: Ice Cloud - Golden Coins - Cashmere - Tip Top - Yes Please - Green Machine - Smoothie
Third row: Caffeine Fix - Latte - Pink Diamond - Creme - Drama Queen - Lonely Planet - Blacqua
Bottom row: Soft - New World - Favour - Sunset Hour - Super Gold - Winning - Brave - The Revolution

My favourite shades are easily New World, Golden Coins, Favour and Super Gold. I'm a sucker for those baked shimmers! But the palette literally has every colour and shade imaginable, from sexy and subtle nudes, to smoky plums and delicious coppers.

The baked and shimmer shades are really creamy and blend amazingly. The matte shades aren't as great, with the lightest shades feeling powdery, but the darker mattes such as Drama Queen are really nicely pigmented. I've also never found a better black eyeshadow than Blacqua, which smokes out really well.

As you can see below, the swatches are to die for. I wish my dumb camera picked them up better!! However I have also included a video, you'll just have to ignore my family talking in the background...

What do you think to this beautiful palette?

  4. I'd heard about this palette and didn't know who the beauty blogger was either lol so I just wrote it off as a bit of a gimmick but now I really want it! It looks stunning and you could do so much with it! Thanks for sharing :)
