The products I bought were the Dewy Finish setting spray, Stay Matte But Not Flat foundation and the Proof It! waterproof eyeshadow primer. So what did I think to them?
Dewy Finish Setting Spray - £7.00
In all honestly, I have actually tried the Dewy Finish setting spray once before. My mum bought me it for Christmas last year, and whilst I thought it was ok, I didn't have anything to compare it to and so couldn't give it a fair review. However I now own the Makeup Revolution Pro-Fixing spray (well, my sister does *wink*), so now I can do a fair comparison when I review it fully (post to follow!)
My initial thoughts on the setting spray is that it actually smells really nice, which I wan't expecting. The spray released is very fine and gives an even coverage, requiring only 2 - 4 sprays for the entire face.
My first thoughts on this product is that it gives a lovely 'glow' to my foundation without making it feel cakey or oily, which is definitely a bonus as I usually wear matte foundation to avoid looking greasy, but don't like the 'dry' look that goes along with it.
I need to trial this setting spray some more before I write a full review, so keep an eye out for it in the next few weeks!
Stay Matte But Not Flat Foundation in 'Ivory' - £6.00
Starting on a positive, this is the only foundation I have ever found which is light enough to suit my skin tone perfectly, which scores it some serious points where I'm concerned.
Now for the not-so-great bit... I'm not currently very keen on it. This foundation feels gritty to apply, which I can only assume is the 'minerals' it is enriched with. Despite being labelled as a full coverage, matte foundation, the coverage this foundation gives me is actually very sheer, no matter how much I use. In fact, the more I apply, the greasier it looks!
HOWEVER, Charlotte (The Porcelain Doll Blog) gave me a huge compliment on Twitter when she asked what foundation I was wearing in a photo and said it looked lovely. Because of this I shall try and persevere with this foundation enough to give it a full review in the following weeks.
Proof It! Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer - £5.50
And it does not come off.
Whilst my sleeve rubbed off the un-primed eyeshadow swatch almost instantly, the primed swatch stayed on my hand for absolute hours.
This primer is so insanely awesome and I am buzzing to write a full review of it, it is likely to be next Wednesday's beauty post! The quality of it for just £5.50 is totally remarkable and I am really excited to try other NYX primers.
