Valentine's Day Decades Collab: 80's Edition

Friday, 12 February 2016
Hello lovelies! So a while ago a friend on Twitter, Laura came up with the fabulous idea of doing a big Valentine's Day makeup collab on our blogs, featuring myself and lots of other lovely bloggers. The original idea was for each of us to do a different look depending on different plans for the day; some natural looks or dramatic looks.

However, we ending up coming up with the idea of doing both day and night looks for different decades. My decade is the 1980's, so prepare yourself for blue eyeshadow and dark lips.

Flirty day time

This look was inspired by the frosted pinks and blues of the 80's, making it a delicate and fresh look for a day time date.

I have started with my foundation, which is by No7 in the shade 'Calico', and have blended it all over my face. I then applied a lot of dainty pink Dandelion blush by Benefit to the apples of my cheeks for a pretty flush.

My eyebrows have been pencilled in with Soap & Glory's Archery in 'Love Is Blonde'. I made them quite dark compared to usual, in order to contrast with the light eye makeup.

For my eyes I used first a light shell pink on the inner corner and all over the lid. The exact colour is 'Satin Sheets' by Too Faced. On the crease I used a navy shade by No7, and the outer corner is a teal shade from Scarlett and Crimson. My mascara is Benefit's tinted primer in 'Mink'.

On my lips is Soap and Glory's matte lipstick in 'Blush Pink', frosted with a little Topshop blush in 'Good Girl'.

What do you think?

Dramatic night time

I wanted a darker and more dramatic style for my night time look, utilising lots of blue, purple and grey.

I'm wearing the same foundation as before, however this time I have used a little bronzer to add some depth to my face. My eyebrows are also lighter than the previous look, as I wanted my eye makeup to be making the bolder statement. My blusher is a darker shade by Collection and is applied more heavily.

All of my eye shadow colours are by No7, using diffrent shades of grey, purple and green blended over my lids. I love how the greeny-blue brings out my eye colour, making this a striking look.

My lipstick is 'Riot' Velvetine by Lime Crime, which is currently my favourite lipstick! I have applied two layers to make it darker than usual.

It doesn't show too well in the photo, but I'm actually wearing blue mascara to finish off the look.

The other bloggers taking part in this collaboration are...
