Hello my lovelies! After spending ages drooling over the dreamy samples other bloggers receive in their monthly Birchboxes, I decided to take the plunge and order one for myself. I was absolutely thrilled when I could have a discount via my student union card, which pretty much sealed the deal for me and had me typing in my card details quicker than you can say "yes please send me this amazing box."
I ordered my Birchbox on Sunday 7th February and it arrived on Thursday 11th which was très bien indeed. I couldn't resist getting out my sequins to take a picture to go with the Shine Bright Like A Diamond quote. Let's get started shall we? Take a peek inside my Birchbox!
|So many goodies!|
Anyone who knows me will understand that I am addicted to makeup brushes, so I actually kind of wish I had discovered this brand before I bought all my Real Techniques ones, due to the amazing colours. However, literally everything on their website is sold out, so I don't actually feel too bad.
|It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!|
Next up is an item I'm not quite sure what to make of. It is Birchbox's first try at their own makeup collection and is an eyeshadow crayon / eyeliner from their brand Love Of Colour.. I chose a rose hued shade with the name 'Champagne Problems' for my shadow stick and overall I'm pleased with my choice.
You can't quite see the swatch very well on my photo, due to it being a very shimmery shade. The enclosed booklet promised excellent blending qualities, however I found that this was not the case at all. Once applied, it stays put and there is no budging it. The staying power truly is amazing though, I couldn't actually get the swatch off my hand! However I think it will make a really gorgeous base shadow shade.
Unfortunately, the other products in my box weren't really anything special! I received a leave in conditioner by a brand called N4, which was actually quite good as I have very dry hair due to bleaching it a lot, so I'm looking forward to trying that.
I also received a hair bobble, which promised to keep hair held tightly and not snag (let's see how that hold up with my thick hair) a marshmallow and apricot face scrub, and a small travel-sized sample of Cochine, which isn't pictured as I gave it straight to my mum due to not being keen on the smell.
Overall I am quite pleased with what I received, especially the gorgeous powder brush! I definitely think I shall be ordering another box next month as it isn't very expensive and some of the products are absolutely lovely.
What do you think to my samples?
