Review: Too Faced Natural & Boudoir Eyes Palettes

I've never been an eye shadow kind of girl and until recently only had a very limited collection. That was until I discovered Too Faced, and now they are my life - not even exaggerating (well maybe a little bit.) I first discovered Too Faced on instagram as it's not easy to miss their gorgeous pink, white and gold themed photos. They're so girly and dainty and pretty, I instantly knew I needed something from them.

My first Too Faced purchase was the Boudoir Eyes palette. Unfortunately, the postage costs to England are absolutely insane and I wasn't keen on spending the inflated amount that Debenhams stocked the products for, so instead I turned to Depop.

I managed to buy a brand new Boudoir Eyes palette for £17! Eek! I was extremely proud of myself and it is 100% genuine. I can't stress enough how much I truly love Depop and all the amazing things.

I like this palette a lot, but unfortunately not a lot of the shades seem to suit me. As you can tell from the photo, the middle three shades are the most used as I think they suit my skin tone and colour preferences the best.

Satin Sheets is a beautiful rose-gold colour, which I also use as a highlighter on days when I'm feeling lazy. Sugar Walls is a mauve-pink which is the perfect lid colour, and I use the grey Garter Belt shade to contour my eyes.

I like Lap Dance and Birthday Suit, but find the other shades in the palette just catch my eye, but I was in love with the gorgeous formula, which is why I decided to purchase a second palette for myself...

Behold, the Natural Eyes palette
This palette was also from Depop and cost me £22, as opposed to the £32 Debenhams retail price. At first there doesn't seem to be a big difference between the two palettes, but believe me, the difference is huge. The Natual Eyes palette is on the whole a lot warmer than Boudoir Eyes, and contains lots of yummy, chocolatey colours.

Silk Teddy is very similar to Satin Sheets, although Silk Teddy is pinker. The same as before, I tend to use the middle three the most, but now I switch it up with all of the shades, so I feel I'm getting better use out of it. I am absolutely in love with Honey Pot and use it every single day, which is something that's very new to me when it comes to makeup.

I think this palette is more suited to Autumn/Winter, whereas Boudoir Eyes seems more Spring/Summer. With any luck I shall rediscover a love for it as the weather gets warmer, but for now I'm sticking to my gorgeous Chocolate Martini, Honey Pot and Push-Up.

I do also own a Too Faced primer in Candlelight, which is absolutely wonderful and you can really tell the difference between using and not using it. My sister bought me it for my birthday in October and I would wholly recommend getting one for yourself.

Do you own anything from Too Faced? What do you think?
I really need to get the mascara!

  1. I'm obsessed with this palette <3 It's totally one of my faves, I'm at pan with almost every colour. In agreement on the Too Faced formula, they are onto a winner there.

  4. I love the Too Faced eyeshadow formula. With a few exceptions, they tend to be buttery smooth and really easy to blend. I passed on this one because I didn't think I could possibly need another neutral palette but this post is making me want to race to Sephora and grab it! Excellent review. #SaucyMinxGang all day.
